Before I start blabbering about one of the coolest bands ever, I'd like to say "hi" to Darla from Retro Ways (I hope I'm right). Thanks for becoming a follower. Hello also to Tom. Thanks as well to everyone who posted comments recently. I get such a kick out of reading them.
Now, onto the music!
I LOVED Siouxsie and the Banshees when I was a teenager. The band grew out of the punk scene and went on to make some of the most innovative pop music around. Siouxsie was also a major fashion icon as far as I'm concerned. She had her own style and whatever she wore, she wore it well. Here's an early video for the song "Christine." I actually bought a Bud visor in New Orleans thinking I could somehow replicate her look in this video. Needless to say, it didn't work.
"Dazzle" - Dig it!
Here's a later song, which is almost a little too slick for my liking. I love how Siouxsie looks in the video. Classic Hollywood glam from the forties.
ERIN! ERIN! ERIN! I got a package in the maiiiiiiiiil today! OMGoodness, I am FREAKING OUT! And BLOWN AWAY! I will post about it in the next couple days, thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!

Hello Sonya. I'm glad the package made its way to your home. The clerk at the postal outlet dropped the package right after putting the "fragile" sticker on it. I hope the ornaments survived the journey.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to make you happy. You are such a positive person.
I was at a Mexican festival yesterday and yes, I bought more Day of the Dead stuff. I just can't control myself around skulls. I'll post photos soon.
All the best,
Erin
Oh yeah, trying to replicate looks like that... oh man, never works. You should see me as a pathetic version of pat benetar. Than again, maybe not so much
ReplyDeleteI hear you CSM. Pat Benetar was a cool rocker and she could really sing. Hmm. Now I want to listen to Pat Benetar. Maybe I'll post something for you.
